Questions About Items on the AntiqueStall
Selling antiques and collectables on the AntiqueStall is easy, and below are some common questions - and answers!
What
are items, exactly?
An item represents a piece (or pieces if selling
a set) of stock.
Your items are what potential buyers are looking at when they browse
the AntiqueStall, so its important that you present them well!
How
do I add items to my stock?
To
add items, you must first be registered as a seller.
Having done this, you must login (click the "sellers"
button in the top left). Simply click "Add To and Administer
My Stock", then click "Add Items". You will be presented
with a form to allow you to enter information about the item that
you wish to sell.
How
do I add a picture of my item?
If
you have a picture of the item that you wish to sell, you can either
upload it to our servers from your computer, or enter a URL where
the image is stored. If you choose to upload a picture, it must
be no larger than 256Kb in size (you can see how big your picture
is by right-clicking the file in Windows Explorer and selecting
"Properties"), and in either JPEG (.jpg), GIF (.gif) or
PNG (.png) format.
There is no size limit if you choose to enter a URL.
I
tried to upload an image, but I got an error message!
Check
that the image is in the correct format (see "How
do I add a picture") - web browsers like Microsoft's Internet
Explorer and Netscape Navigator can only display certain types of
image. Make sure that the image is not larger than 256Kb - our system
will reject larger images. If you are sure that you have done everything
correctly, contact us,
with all the details of what you have tried to do.
My
Digital Camera outputs bitmap (.bmp) files. What do I do?
Your
camera should have come with some software for editing and converting
images - try converting it to a JPEG (.jpg) file using this software.
If you don't have any software for this, you should try one of the
many image editing packages available - ask your local computer
dealer.
We are sorry,
but the AntiqueStall cannot convert images for you.
How
Do I Remove Items from the site?
Having
logged in to your seller's home page, locate the item that you want
to modify, and change the item's status to "Hold". This
will prevent the item from being seen by buyers, but will allow
you to make it available again at a later date. If you want to remove
the item permanently (perhaps you sold it outside the AntiqueStall),
then set the status to "Expired".
