Fine and Rare German Swept Hilt Rapier. The Iron hilt of flattened oval bars with Pas dāne. Arms of the hilt flowing upward to the volute joining curved Knuckle guard, Single ring guard with central guard spiraling to the centre area between small lower guard and upper ring guard. The counter guard has four round section branches. Straight quillons of wide oval section swelling at terminating. The cone shaped pommel with button top. Grip of spiral shape with twisted brass and steel wire on wood grip with steel Turks head top and bottom. Triangular double edged blade 41.5" in length, stamped on each ricasso with the makers mark, unknown. The hilt and blade with minor rust areas and retaining a pleasing dull metal finish. Circa 1600. A Very Fine Colt M1855 Half Stocked Revolving Rifle.£12,000
A Very Fine Colt M1855 Half Stocked Revolving Percussion Sporting Rifle. This has a .44cal rifled round barrel with semi-octagonal breech , 24"in length. The top strap stamped with "Colts Pat.1856 and address Col. Colt Hartford, Ct. USA" Under frame loading lever and fitted with walnut forend with silver forend cap and original wooden ram rod under barrel. The walnut butt retaining original lacquer with checkered wrist. Retaining 95% bright blue finish to metal and 80% colour hardening. The barrel with the original English brown finish. English proof marks on six chambered fluted cylinder. Fabulous Item & a Superb Investment. Made from 1857 - 1864. Ref No(E)APG1/HH3z.
A Fine German Pappenheim£4,250
A Fine German Pappenheim Rapier.   Octagonal globular large pommel with button top, twisted steel wire bound fluted grip with Turks heads finishing top and bottom.  The re-curved quillons made of flattened iron bar and terminating in a leaf design.  Flattened and shaped knuckle guard, a Pas dāne, and on each side a double ring guard, the upper ring joined to the lower ring guard by loops at the side and to the knuckle guard by a branch.  A convex iron plate with star shaped perforations is fitted into the lower rings section.   Very long 42" double edged blade with short fuller at the ricasso on each side, stamped with the running wolf mark.  See: European swords and daggers in the Tower of London, HMSO.  Plate 108 mark No49c.  Circa  1620.   Ref NoFM5z.
An English Civil War Elbow-Gauntlet£1,850
An English Civil War Elbow-Gauntlet. This was made for the left arm to protect the bridal hand and extended right up to the elbow.  The fingers and hand are protected by articulated plates fixed onto a leather gauntlet.   The whole sleeve would have been lined originally.  This is now missing and leather has been replaced, at some time. There is no exact dating for these elbows Prior to 1640,  although it is the final piece of armour to be fitted and used by Harquebusiers in the English Civil Wars period.  These were in use throughout the Civil War Period of 1642 until 1651.  This  example has a total overall length of  20".   Circa 1640s.  See Ref.
